Definitely worth the trip! This is an all-day road trip through windy roads with a bunch of roadside waterfalls. If you can, hike down to the Red Sand Beach right in Hana– very secluded, and kinda cool swimming in bright blue water surrounded by red cliff faces. You either have to drive to Hana and double back, or what we did last time is rent a jeep and start the drive on the back side of Haleakala, and end in Paia (a road they say rental cars aren’t supposed to use). :) Wear swim stuff if you’d like to swim around under Wailua Falls.
